Frequently Asked Questions about Self-Storage Leases

Does Absolute Storage Management offer month-to-month storage?

Yes! Absolute exclusively offers flexible month-to-month storage rentals for your convenience. With our team, you’re able to find and rent the unit that fits your needs and budget, whether you’re looking for seasonal storage or a long-term solution.

Is there a minimum storage unit rental period?

The minimum rental period is one month, though you’re free to move your things out before then. However, we do not prorate rents. The maximum storage period is however long you need to keep your space!

What do I need to rent a self-storage unit?

You’ll need to provide a government-issued ID and relevant personal information such as your phone number, your email address, and a credit card to keep on file. We recommend calling your local Absolute Storage managed facility to confirm any required documentation for renting a self-storage unit.

How does moving out of my storage unit work?

It’s easy! The exact process may differ depending on your facility, but all you have to do is empty out your unit and leave the door open so we know you’ve vacated your space. You can also email or call your property manager to let them know you’ve left.

Can I change self-storage units between months?

Yes! If you decide that you need some additional space or a more compact unit, that’s completely fine. We’ll find an available unit that you can move your things into and change your bill accordingly.

What happens if I pay my rent late?

Late fees can vary depending on facility policy. Exemptions are rare in the case of a medical emergency or another situation where you cannot pay on time.

Will my rate change during my storage unit rental?

Costs may fluctuate depending on how long you rent from us. We also often offer promotional discounts such as half-off your first month, in which case your second bill would be higher.

Can I use a storage unit for my business?

You can! We’re happy to help local businesses and entrepreneurs manage their workflow. Some common uses include inventory stocking, document filing, and equipment storage.

Do you offer self-storage insurance options?

Yes, we do! Absolute Storage Management’s self-storage insurance policies provide you with additional coverage in the event of an unforeseen emergency or destructive event. Read our self-storage insurance FAQ page for further info.

Is there anything I can’t keep in my storage unit?

You cannot keep many items in your self-storage unit. Anything illegal, flammable, or perishable is prohibited. Other things you can’t store with us include firearms, fireworks, chemicals, gasoline, gold or silver, food, pets, and plants.
